Teknologi Informasi dan Perkembangannya

Berhubung bahan ujian praktek TIK termasuk teknologi, today I'll share about technology ^.^

Menurut Wikipedia Indonesia, Teknologi Informasi (TI), atau dalam bahasa Inggris dikenal dengan istilah Information technology (IT) adalah istilah umum yang menjelaskan teknologi apa pun yang membantu manusia dalam membuat, mengubah, menyimpan, mengomunikasikan dan/atau menyebarkan informasi. TI menyatukan komputasi dan komunikasi berkecepatan tinggi untuk data, suara, dan video. Contoh dari Teknologi Informasi bukan hanya berupa komputer pribadi, tetapi juga telepon, TV, peralatan rumah tangga elektronik, dan peranti genggam modern (misalnya ponsel). 

Pengolahan, penyimpanan dan penyebaran vokal, informasi bergambar, teks dan numerik oleh mikroelektronika berbasis kombinasi komputasi dan telekomunikasi. Istilah dalam pengertian modern pertama kali muncul dalam sebuah artikel 1958 yang diterbitkan dalam Harvard Business Review, di mana penulis Leavitt dan Whisler berkomentar bahwa "teknologi baru belum memiliki nama tunggal yang didirikan. Kita akan menyebutnya teknologi informasi (TI). ". Beberapa bidang modern dan muncul teknologi informasi adalah generasi berikutnya teknologi web, bioinformatika, ''Cloud Computing'', sistem informasi global, Skala besar basis pengetahuan dan lain-lain.

Berdasarkan sumber ini,  kemampuan TI dan multimedia dalam menyampaikan pesan dinilai sangat besar. Dalam bidang pendidikan, Teknologi Informasi (TI) dan multimedia telah mengubah paradigma penyampaian materi pelajaran kepada peserta didik. Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) bukan saja dapat membantu guru dalam mengajar, melainkan sudah dapat bersifat stand alone dalam memfasilitasi proses belajar.

Teknologi Informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) yang kini berkembang dengan pesat, dan tak bisa di pungkiri kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap seluruh proses globalisasi ini. Mulai dari seperti media pembelajaran yang menggunakan Teknologi Informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) hingga media-media elektronik. Perubahan informasi saat ini seakan-akan tidak lagi dalam skala hari atau bahkan jam, melainkan sudah mencapai skala menit maupun detik.

Perkembangan Teknologi Informasi sudah sedemikian pesatnya sehingga sulit bagi kita untuk mengontrolnya. Hampir setiap detik produk Teknologi Informasi tercipta di seluruh belahan dunia. Kita patut mengapresiasi perkembangan Teknologi Informasi ini karena tentunya akan semakin membantu kehidupan manusia. Dampak positif dan negatif pemanfaatan IT sudah pasti ada dan sudah sewajarnya kita mewaspadai hal ini.

Berikut ini beberapa hal yang menjadi dampak positif perkembangan Teknologi Informasi :

• Mempermudah dan mempercepat akses informasi yang kita butuhkan.
• Mempermudah dan mempercepat penyampaian atau penyebaran informasi.
• Mempermudah transaksi perusahaan atau perseorangan untuk kepentingan bisnis.
• Mempermudah penyelesaian tugas-tugas atau pekerjaan.
• Mempermudah proses komunikasi tidak terhalang waktu dan tempat.
• Banyaknya penggunaan teknologi informasi membuka lowongan kerja IT atau jenis lowongan pekerjaan baru lainnya.

Sementara itu dampak negatif perkembangan Teknologi Informasi antara lain,

• Isu SARA, kekerasan dan pornografi menjadi hal yang biasa.
• Kemudahan transaksi memicu munculnya bisnis-bisnis terlarang seperti narkoba dan produk black market atau ilegal.
• Para penipu dan penjahat bermunculan terutama dalam kasus transaksi online.
• Munculnya budaya plagiarisme atau penjiplakan hasil karya orang lain.
